Hello, my friend.
My name is Jennifer Hengtgen and let’s just cut to the chase. It’s pronounced “Henchen”. You’re welcome!
I have had the honor of serving in the field of dentistry for over 20 years. One might say it’s in my genes. My great-grandfather was a dentist and played an instrumental role in the establishment of the Oral Surgery Department at University of Washington Dental School, all the way back in 1945. My personal passion for dentistry began at the age of twelve when I spent 10 hours a week, working after school in a dental office where my mom was the office manager. Oh, the days of actual appointments books, paper charts, and x-ray film.
Throughout my dental journey, I have gained the knowledge and expertise in what it takes to run a successful dental practice. It is my mission to share this with dentists so that they may experience freedom from the overwhelming challenges that come with practice ownership.
Also inspired to help practice owners tap into their leadership potential and reach their highest levels of success, I attended the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPec), obtaining designations as a Certified Professional Coach and Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner making me one of the only consultants in dentistry to also be a professionally trained coach.
Who am I outside of dentistry?
I live in Seattle, WA, and am a self-professed personal and professional development junkie. I LOVE spending time with my niece and nephew, discovering new music, and traveling to coastal destinations. Coffee and wine might be somewhere in there too. At different times of the day of course.
Now it’s your turn. I’d love to learn more about you and your practice so give me a call or shoot me an email! I look forward to connecting.
Owner & Consultant
Frequently Asked Questions
Are you a consultant or a coach? What’s the difference?
Great news…I’m both!
As a consultant, I provide professional opinions, analysis, and recommendations to practices based on my personal expertise. I serve as an objective troubleshooter providing practices with strategies to prevent issues and improve performance.
As a Certified Professional Coach (CPC), my goal is to help practice owners become great leaders and better communicators. I work with clients to find clarity and answers around roadblocks, assist them in understanding how to move forward in achieving their goals, and guide them in their personal growth. Coaching is a valuable tool when working to motivate your team, and I can teach you how to do just that!
How do I know if consulting is right for my practice?
Business owners looking to grow and evolve their businesses hire consultants much like professional athletes hire a coach to help them improve their performance. While Russel Wilson may be innately athletic, a coach makes the difference in the skilled performance come game day.
Having a consultant equips you with the tools to enhance practice performance, systematically overcome day-to-day challenges, and ensures that you are continuing to move forward at each level of your business.
A more important question to ask might be, “How do I know if YOUR approach is right for my practice?” The key is to choose a consultant with an approach that you believe can help accomplish your vision. It’s important to me that I connect with every potential client so ensure my process matches your needs.
What can I expect, working with you?
The fact that you have a lot of dental consultants to choose from is not lost on me. Being hired to partner with your practice is an honor. You can count on me to assist you in achieving your vision by providing you with all the tools, resources, and expertise that I have acquired over the last 20 years.
Changes require heavy lifting from you and your team, but I will be there every step of the way to hold the lantern and help you stay the course.
Can you tell me more about your free consultation?
